Truth be spoken. Thank you! At the most recent No Kings rally, a group of the president's supporters paraded through the crowd and started a physical altercation with anyone who took the dare. Instead, about 25 people surrounded them and their flags and started chanting, "It's love, not hate, that makes America great!" The rest of us chimed in, too, 500 people strong!

Thank you for this. I saw two pictures of me side by side recently. The younger picture showed brightness. The second, 12 years older showed tiredness and no joy. I have much to be joyful about. So yes I am going to reclaim joyfulness and hope!!!

All of us on society's underside--disabled, drugged, derelict, dismissed--are clinging to your coattails, Sarah. I am going to borrow a bit of your hope and take it home and knit some of it into a tiny hope sweater for someone else who's ready to give up. I am a lowly disabled writer, but I am learning that when we can't go on, God carries us through--not around or over or under, but THROUGH. (Is 46:4). Thank you. ~Linda Clare at The Deep End, author of Carry Me Through: 90 devotions for When You Can't Go On

"Today, I’m going to live like there is hope. It’s all I have and no one will take this from me."

That's a whole sermon right there, isn't it?

Thank you for the reminder! ❤️‍🩹

YES!!!!

Every year instead of a New Year's resolution, I pick a word. I try to be intentional about my word, keeping it fresh with sticky notes & little reminders in strategic places. Sometimes my word last weeks, maybe months, even through much of the year. My word for 2026? You probably guessed it?! HOPE.

I keep it close, HOPE. And, yes, I've got the t-shirt even! Hoodie too😉.

God-incidentally, I just started re-reading Field Notes for the Wilderness on Friday, 4/10.

Thank you & God bless you for speaking to my mind, spirit & soul on the regular❤️

Sharing in your hope in PA, as I work on taxes and hold a sleeping baby. Spring is definitely on its way to you; in fact, as a hope addict myself who loves to share it, I'll go out and tell the April breeze that Alberta should be up next.

"Everything holy has a bit of dirt on her chin and blood on her knuckles anyway."

Thank you Sarah, as always, for your words and courageous heart.

Hope is my word for the year and forever. It is durable and steady, a protest against despair.

Thank you!

Oh my goodness! This is so beautiful and just what I needed to hear! I know of individuals who just think the opposite. Even though they are believers, they dwell on the impossible and the negative. Don’t we believe in a God who still preforms miracles, a God who wants to see unity amongst us, a God who wants us to love one another to spread His light, love and yes HOPE! Preach Sarah Preach. We have a hope and because of that HOPE I rise every morning. To do the mundane tasks, the fun tasks, and the not so loved tasks. Thank you Sarah. 🥰

I don't feel it most of the time these days, but I choose hope because without it there is nothing. With it, there is everything, and I need that for my children and grandchildren.
