Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your thoughts, your real life experiences, your book lists, and your knitting projects. Always encouraging and inspirational! No soft pants yet today as I am celebrating the late in life marriage of a dear friend, but you know they’ll be on the minute I walk back in the door later today. Grateful for the last few days to enjoy the lights of the season before putting it all away. Happy New Year!

Thank you for your good words and faithful practices again this year. I read this in my soft pants on my patio under a blanket, listening to my neighbor's choice of country music while (I think?) they take down their menagerie of holiday inflatables! Best wishes for the new year.

Thank you, Sarah! The Book Corner is always a delight. Thanks to a fellow Field Notes member, I found a my latest book that I can't put down, Three Holidays and A Wedding by Uzma Jalaluddin and Marissa Stapley.

I had to smile when I saw this- I’m in soft pants eating leftovers with Christmas cookies for dessert surrounded by laughing grandkids playing new games. It is heavenly. Thank you for Field Notes for the Wilderness. It took me almost all of 2024 to work my way through it because I did the journal with it and tried to be reflective as I thought about your questions. Some healing has occurred (and some still needs to happen) and I will likely go back and re-read some of it. Thank you for giving me hope for 2025. Blessings to you and your family.

Thank you, Sarah, for consistently showing up in my inbox with words of life and love. I AM in my soft pants today! We are making mashed potatoes for one more family gathering this evening. I am finding the water dripping from the roof onto the clothesline where it beads up intriguing, so that probably means I’ve been successful in slowing down a bit. Many blessings to you and your family.

That's my secret... I'm always wearing soft pants! ;) But seriously, thank you for another year of words, encouragement, and perspective-- it means so much, especially when my thoughts get too tumultuous. This summer I'll be welcoming my firstborn kid into the world and I know I'll continue to treasure this corner of the internet as my life turns upside down. :) Happy New Year!

Thank you Sarah for the countless gifts finding and following you have blessed me with in 2024. You are salt and light and inspiration to me and this lovely community. I especially loved the UnexpectedJesus series. Looking forward to walking the path together in 2025!

Thank you for Field Notes — both this newsletter and the book (and journal). The two things I loved most this year were the series on the Unexpected Jesus. Oh, gosh it was beautiful. And the second was listening to your book at a certain time/place in my faith and it meaning one thing, then experiencing the kind of disillusionment, hurt and disappointment that churches can cause that you talked about and having the realisation that I can read it again and find comfort in a totally different way. So grateful to you and this community 🫶🏼💜
